George Heath Candlelight Vigil Tonight at 7pm

George Heath

TuesdayGeorge-Heath-Taunton night, George gave up his life defending a waitress in the attacks that took place at the Silver City Galleria in Taunton, MA. George died a hero saving someone he did not know and possibly other lives because of his actions. He was Matt Robinson’s step father and a teacher at the Greater New Bedford Vocational school. Matt faithfully serves at Journey on our hospitality team on Sunday mornings.

Candlelight Vigil

Tonight at 7pm there will be a candlelight vigil to honor George and his heroic actions at the Taunton Green. Please come out if you are available to show your support for Matt and his family.

This week’s Life Groups: Thriving in Babylon #2

Our men’s and women’s Life Groups are both doing Larry Osborne’s Thriving in Babylon 5-week study. This week, both groups are on Session 2: Prepared for Babylon. We will be examining why God allows hardship and trial in our lives. What can it teach us about thriving and surviving in our circumstances?

Men’s Groups. Yes, more than one!

Tonight 7P

First, let’s get item one out of the way… there IS men’s group tonight. Every Wednesday at 7pm we gather at Journey to connect in our faith and life. Join us. It’s that simple.

Friday 8:30A

Second, we know that some of our guys are unable to make Wednesday nights due to second or third shifts. Well, we’ve added a Friday morning men’s group to help those who can’t make it Wednesdays! Who’s stoked? Come on, raise your hand! Shout out wherever you are, “I AM SUPER STOKED!” We’ll cover the same content, just on a different day to allow all of our guys to get involved. Join us at Journey from 8:30a-9:30a to build relationships, drink coffee, eat donuts and understand God better.

Iron Sharpens Iron

This Sunday, April 17th, is the last day to sign up for Iron Sharpens Iron men’s conference in Worcester at the FREE rate. The conference is Saturday May 14, 8:30A-5P. We’ll meet at the church early enough to hit up somewhere for coffee and ride together. Contact Wayne Magee or Pastor Mike if you are going. Registrations will still be accepted after Sunday but will be at the full rate, starting at $47pp.

Young Adult Game Night – Tonight 6p (CORRECTION)

Young Adult Game Night – Tonight 6p

*Whoops! Loose trigger finger there… Correction, game night is at 6pm not 7pm.

Hello young adults! Are you a young adult? If you have to ask… probably not, but we still like you! 😉

Tonight, April 9th at 6pm our young adults will be gathering at Justin and Kim’s house to play some games and hang out to get to know each other. Sounds like some Minute To Win It style games are on the docket!

Whether you’re a gameaholic or not doesn’t really matter, just come out to connect and build relationships with other young adults who want to do life with you (and we don’t mean the jail kind).

If you’d like to go and need the address, text the Journey team at 508-617-8926 and let us know you’re looking for the address for the young adults gathering tonight.

Worship + Prayer Encounter Tonight

Tonight from 7-8pm we will gather at Journey for worship, prayer and communion, followed by an opportunity to connect with each other over coffee. Prayer moves the Church when the church is praying, man moves the church when it stops praying.

“A church is never more like the New Testament church than when it is praying. A dynamic praying church must be built from the inside out, employing all four levels of prayer: the secret closet, the family altar, small group praying and finally, the congregational setting.”
Developing your Secret Closet of Prayer, Richard Burr

Easter Sunday Update

Easter is here!

So, you’re joining us for Easter Sunday… Here’s a couple things to note!
  1. Service is at 10am instead of 10:30. Be here for 10am or you could be a little bit late and miss out on some of the awesome worship our team has been gifted to provide!
  2. The Mill is technically closed, so we have the parking lot to ourselves with the exception of Planet Fitness. Park closest to the Central Entrance and come in that way, most of the other doors will still be locked.
  3. We are opening our Family Center! While we still have a few elements to complete, i.e. carpet, a touch of paint, and a little bit of trim (which needs the carpet installed first), we’re ready to let our kids run wild. Come check it out!

Quick Review

Use the Central Entrance for our 10am Easter Service and opening of our Family Center!

Life Track | Sessions 301 + 401 this Sunday afternoon

Life Track

301 Discovery + 401 Partner

SUNDAY MARCH 20, 2016

We are excited to be hosting our second set of sessions for this month’s Life Track on Sunday following our service. If you have attended Life Track 101 The Church and 201 Essentials, we want you to continue your journey of connecting with the community here at Journey and learning more about how you can play a part in God’s kingdom through participating in Journey.

There are two homework items necessary BEFORE Sunday. Yes, we said homework… Set aside about 20-30 minutes where you can focus to complete these two tasks for Sunday’s sessions.
  1. Complete the Spiritual Gifts + SHAPE survey. This helps you to see how God has equipped you spiritually and what passions He has cultivated in your heart. Print your results and bring it with you on Sunday.
  2. Complete the DISC Profile. This is a simple tool of 16 questions to give you a snapshot of your possible personality type. Print the results or write down your scores and bring it with you on Sunday.

Try to have these complete so you can participate in the conversation around these two components of our session.
